On Sunday October 21st, we all cuddled in bed. Hudson has always slept with his arms above his head just like his daddy. Today, we finally got a picture of them sleeping together.
After our lazy start to the day, Nic made dairy free, soy free, egg free chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast.
He and Hudson spent the day watching football together, which gave me a few moments to work on some scrapbooking. We ended the day by giving our little monkey a bath. (It took us forever to find the camera and by the time we did Hudson was ready to be swaddled and put to bed so he wasn't in the mood for photos).

Eight Weeks Old
On October 17th, Hudson turned 8 weeks old. He weighs 12 pounds 6 ounces. He is laughing now and smiling quite often. He loves grabbing things and hitting things. He kicks his legs a ton and waves his arms around. He is "talking" quite a bit. He is a bit drooly. He loves to suck on his fists. The hair on top of his head fell out and this week new fuzzy, soft hair has grown in. On the 16th, Hudson slept a 5 and a half hour stretch. Of course we stayed up late chatting with Tim and Hailey so we didn't really get to take advantage sleep wise, but hopefully it is the first of many longer sleep stretches.
Tim and Hailey Visit
On Monday, October 15th, Tim and Hailey arrived from Australia. We cooked a spaghetti dinner for them and hung out at the house catching up. On Tuesday night, we went to BJs for dinner. It was really fun having them here.

Ashley's Baby Shower
On Sunday, October 14th, I went to Ashley's baby shower. Nic watched Hudson for me so I could have an afternoon to myself. I was excited to have a break, but it was also really hard to leave. I actually teared up when I said bye, but it was for the better because it would have been difficult to take him. I had a really fun afternoon with a few of my girlfriends at the shower and it was great to see Ashley and her baby bump. I am so excited for her and Andre and can't wait to meet their baby girl.
Seven Weeks Old
On October 10th, Hudson turned seven weeks old. He now weighs 11 pounds 12 ounces. He rolls from his tummy to his back quite well. He has done it at least 5 times now. He was diagnosed with reflux this week and started medicine so hopefully he won't be in so much pain anymore. Despite the pain we know he is in, Hudson is a very happy baby. He is babbling a lot more. He loves to play on his activity mat. He swings at things, grabs things and kicks his legs. He is getting much more comfortable with tummy time although we noticed that he favors looking to the left. He is still in size 0-3 month clothes and size 1 diapers. He still eats every 2-3 hours. He is consistently sleeping 3 and a half hours his first stretch at night. He still enjoys peeing and pooping on mommy and daddy occasionally (just that morning he peed on himself, then on me, then pooped, then peed again all in the course of one diaper change!).
Activity Mat
Hudson loves his activity mat. He grabs onto the rings, bats at his toys, stares at himself in the mirror and chats away. It is so fun to watch him play.

Hudson Rolls from Tummy to Back
At 6 weeks 4 days Hudson rolled over from his tummy to his back 3 times! Unfortunately the lighting was horrible. He did it again the next night too. The lighting was better, but still pretty bad. Hopefully we can get a video during the day, but for whatever reason he seems to only do it at night.

San Diego-Sea World
On Friday night, October 5th, we drove down to San Diego. We left late so we could eat our special diet dinner before we left and so we would miss traffic. Hudson slept most of the drive except once when he woke up to eat. We got there pretty late, so we just spent a little bit of time with the family and then went to bed.
On Saturday, October 6th, we went to Sea World for our company picnic. I dressed Hudson in his adorable whale shirt and shorts outfit.
We went to the wild arctic exhibit first and saw a polar bear, walrus, and beluga whales. The beluga whales were my favorite thing of the day.
Then we went to the Shamu Show. I had heard stories of people getting their strollers stolen and Sea World so Nic and I had planned to use the stroller through exhibits before the picnic, then put the stroller back in the car and use the ergo baby the rest of the day. That plan obviously went out the window! Had we planned on using the stroller all day we would have taken the accessories off. We snuck past the stroller parking police and parked our stroller as close to the stadium entrance as possible. Then I removed all the accessories and Nic put a make-shift lock on the wheels. We also parked it right next to an identical stroller in the hopes that since ours had a "lock" on it if someone wanted to steal it they would take the one next to ours. We looked so ridiculous in the stadium with our crap load of stroller parts. Then Nic mentioned that the wheels pop off really easy and we realized we should have brought a wheel in with us. I joked that we should have just dis-assembled the entire stroller and brought it in in parts.
The Shamu show was great and reminded me of my childhood. Watching those amazing animals jumping and waving to the music never gets old.
After the show, I fed Hudson in a nursing room (they had them in a lot of the bathrooms~they are a private room with a rocking chair and changing table) then we went to the picnic. I ate a delicious lunch of fruit and lettuce with my tuna pack from home, while everyone else enjoyed burgers, fajitas, cookies and ice cream. :/ We played bingo and Hudson even experienced his first photo booth. It was fun to see everyone from work and they were all super excited to see Hudson.
After the picnic, we went and watched the sea lion and sea otter show. That show has always been my favorite and it didn't disappoint. The animals kept messing up and the performers cracked some really good jokes to cover. It was also less stressful leaving the stroller this time because Nic popped the wheel off and brought it in with us. :)
After the show, I fed Hudson while everyone else went through the shark exhibit. Sabrina and I took Hudson in after. She carried him through and a few minutes in he was asleep. He looked so cute sound asleep with sharks swimming behind his head, but I could not get a good picture.
After the shark exhibit, we went to the dolphin encounter.
After that, we went to the dolphin show, which was a bit of a disappointment. I used to love the dolphin show, but they have completely changed it. It is more amateur cirque du soleil than it is about the animals. Hudson also was not amused. He started to get really hot and really fussy. I took him and left the show early. After that we called it a day. Hudson exceeded our expectations and we did way more than we expected to. The only thing we missed was the penguins.
That night we were all pretty tired so we had a relaxed dinner at the hotel. We got to walk along the bay and saw a beautiful sunset.
The next morning, we took some photos on our balcony and then had breakfast together. We also went to visit Aunt Susannah so she could meet Hudson. It was a really fun weekend and I am so proud of how well Hudson did!!
