Boating Day

On Monday, November 19, Nic watched Hudson so I could go out on the boat. I love being out on the boat!! It is so fun to just get out on the ocean and cruise! We went to a beautiful snorkel spot with tons of fish, turtles and an eel.

After snorkeling, and a visit to the house, as we were flying through massive waves, getting drenched, we spotted two kayaks quite a ways out. At first we thought they were waving, but we quickly realized they were trying to flag us down to help them. We suddenly found ourselves involved in a rescue mission. The parents and two daughters were so scared. We pulled them into the boat along with their kayaks and took them in to safety. They were very thankful and we were all pretty impressed with our rescuing abilities. ;)

After that excitement, we stopped for another swim at Black Rock. Tyler swam in to do his traditional jump off the rock, then we headed back in.

That night, Lauren, Craig, and Tyler (mainly Lauren) watched Hudson while a group of us went to one of my favorite restaurants for dinner, Lahaina Grill. It was delicious, but especially so since I had been following my restrictive diet for so long. I've always appreciated delicious food, but its amazing how delicious something as simple as bread and butter can taste after weeks of eating dairy, soy and wheat free.

Beach Day

On Sunday, November 18th, we went to Kapalua Beach. Nic, Tyler, and my dad had done a dive there in the morning and met up with us on the beach. It was a beautiful day: not too hot and a bit cloudy so we didn't have to worry too much about Hudson getting sunburned. Hudson hung out in his carseat for a while just checking everything out. He watched his cousin Oliver swim in the ocean for the first time. :) Oliver loved it!!

Susan pushed Hudson around in his stroller for his nap while Nic, my mom and I went snorkeling. It was nice to get out in the water and see all the beautiful coral and fish.

When we got back, I fed Hudson on the beach. It was a little windy and I was wet, but Hudson did pretty good considering. After he ate, we took some pictures, then took Hudson down to check out the water. He seemed really interested until his feet hit the water. He instantly panicked and screamed. It was so cute. As soon as Nic picked him up though he stopped. When Nic tried again, he only made an unsure face, but no screaming. By the third time Nic dunked Hud's feet in he seemed indifferent. After a few more times, he actually seemed to be slightly enjoying it. It was so fun to watch him experience something for the very first time!
He was a bit shocked after the first dip.

Then decided it wasn't too horrible.
After a few dips he seemed to kind of enjoy it.

I think he enjoyed sunbathing more than his dip in the ocean though. :)
That afternoon, we went down to visit the turtles again, while my mom watched Hudson. The beach with the turtles is such a magical place. Watching Oliver with the turtles got me excited for the future with Hudson. He was so excited about them! :) We watched the sun begin to set then got ready for dinner.

Most of us "kids" went to the Melting Pot for Dinner and the "adults" went to 100 Wines. I had never been to the Melting Pot and really liked it. I liked the group atmosphere, the sharing of food, and I especially liked the desserts. We had a lot of fun cooking food together and stuffing our faces and I enjoyed all the cheese after months of eating dairy free! :)

Turtle-y Cute!

On Saturday November 17th, we didn't do much. I started off the day like I start off most of my days now...with a photo shoot of Hudson.

Throwing up Shaka
It was a bit overcast so it was the perfect day to ride the Sugar Cane Train, but apparently it doesn't run on Saturdays! Talk about a tour guide fail!! I felt so bad, especially since we didn't realize it until we were sitting at the station waiting for the train to arrive.

That night we went to dinner at Hula Grill in Whalers Village. After dinner we did some shopping and watched a hula performance before heading back home.

Another Day in Paradise

On November 16th, we all lazed around in the morning, still catching up with each other.

The boys swam over to the beach next door for a bit, then in the afternoon, we took Hudson down to meet the turtles.

Hudson spent the rest of the afternoon lounging on the day bed with his Grandma.

I took a few photos of my handsome boys before dinner.

That night we went to Merrimans for dinner. Oliver and my dad ended up wearing almost identical shirts. It was so cute! The food was delicious and we all had a great time together.

Old Lahaina Luau

That night, November 15th, we went to the Old Lahaina Luau. The food was really good and so was the entertainment. It was a great introduction for Nic's family to Maui. Hudson loved it too! He must have been so tired, but he didn't seem to care. He was looking all around, checking out the tiki torches, and taking in the scenery. He especially loved the show. I knew he was tired and hungry, but he just stared at the dancers. It was as if he couldn't be bothered eating or sleeping because he didn't want to miss anything.

As we were leaving, we got some photos with the performers. Hudson looked so cute in his lei and he is already a little lady's man!!! His dad was so proud!

When we got back to the house, Hudson and Oliver spent some time together, before everyone crashed.
Between the flash washing some of the photos out and trying to get both kids to look this is the best we could get.

Hudson meets his Australian Family!

On Thursday, November 15th, I started off the day with a massage. OMG, it was so good! I haven't had a massage since last year's Hawaii trip and realized I needed it more than ever! I haven't been able to crack my back in months and sometimes feel as though my spine is compressing because I spend so much time hunched over Hudson. It was so nice to completely relax and have me time and I was able to get one tiny back crack by the end of it.

After my massage, we unpacked and got the house ready for Nic's family. We went to meet them at the airport. I couldn't believe how big Oliver has gotten!! Last time we saw him was his first birthday in Tassie over a year ago. He has changed so much!! Everyone was so excited to meet Hudson for the first time! It was really a special moment that already feels like a bit of a blur.

We got back to the house, showed everyone around and all caught up. Hudson was so excited about the new environment and all the new faces that he barely slept the entire day.
