Maui Day 6

On June 22nd, we got up bright and early to go out on the boat. 

It was Hudson's first boat ride and I was a little nervous. He wasn't a huge fan of the vest, but loved being on the boat. He was really enjoying the ride and even fell asleep. Then we suddenly hit some rough water and huge waves of water woke Hudson up. As you can imagine that kind of startled him, but once we got into calm water again, he calmed down. The ocean got rough pretty quick, so we didn't venture out too far. We went to Mala Pier for some snorkeling (we saw a turtle and an eel) and good old Black Rock. 

That afternoon, we enjoyed the jacuzzi, then a delicious dinner at Sansei. 

After dinner, we came home to see a stunning sunset!

Maui Day 5

On June 21st, we spent the day lounging and relaxing. That afternoon, we had a bunch of people over for a BBQ. It was tons of fun. 

Maui Day 4

We started off June 20th with the most beautiful rainbow. 

Then we spent the day at the house, enjoying the pool. Between the water table, pool and all the attention from his aunt and uncles, Hudson was in absolute heaven! I was in heaven too, watching him have so much fun and enjoying the breathtaking views.

That night, we went to one of my favorite restaurants, Kimos, for dinner. Rachelle and Brandon arrived that afternoon and joined us for dinner. We had a great view, with delicious food! It was a very fun evening. 

On the way back to the car, we had to stop at Bubba Gumps for a few photos. Then we all cracked up watching Tyler and Brandon skip down the street holding hands with Hudson and Hudson's bag. They were getting tons of strange looks from passer-bys. It was hilarious.

Forty Three Weeks

On June 19th,Hudson turned forty three weeks old. Hudson weighs 18 pounds 13 ounces. Hudson tried watermelon this week and didn't like it. He made faces, spat it out and threw it on the ground. He also had sweet potato/corn/millet, which he liked. He got sick with herpangina and made a trip to Urgent Care. His top left, outer tooth broke through and 3 more are following closely behind. He started pointing this week, which is very exciting. 

Maui Day 3

On June 19th, Justin and I fed Hudson breakfast, then Hudson and Tyler played with the new turtle toy.

That day we met a friend of mine, Sarah, and her husband for lunch at Hula Grill. 

After lunch, we went to the beach. Poor Hud was really overtired and overheated (it took the boys a while to set up the tent so we were in the sun for a bit). I tried to get him to sleep, but he only slept for about 5 minutes. We gave up on the nap and took him in the water to cool down instead. He loved it! I was a bit nervous because there were some waves, but Tyler and Justin had him so I knew he was in good hands.  

 That night we went to Sansei for dinner. It was so delicious!! 

After dinner we enjoyed the jacuzzi and a beautiful sunset. Can life get any better?!!

Maui Day 2

Because we were still on LA time, Hudson woke up nice and early on June 18th (luckily not too early since he was so tired from the day before~he woke up around 8:30am our time/5:30am Hawaii time). I tried to bring him in bed with me, but he was in exploring mode. We did get to see a beautiful sunrise and I snuck in a few cuddles before he took off!

We spent the morning in the pool. Hudson loved it! What a lucky little guy to swim in such a beautiful pool!!

My mom gave Hudson his first swim lesson with his first submersion. I was nervous, so I'm glad she did it instead of me!

That afternoon we went to the other side of the island to do a bunch of shopping. When we picked Tyler up from the airport he couldn't believe how packed the car was! He had snow skis with him that he had to tie to the roof! We wore Hudson out with all the shopping!! 

Aloha Maui!

On June 17th, my mom, Hudson, Justin and I left for Maui. My mom always travels on United and since she travels so much she usually gets upgraded. Since we were all booked on the same itinerary..one lucky little baby got to have his very own first class seat!! Can you believe that?!! Hudson sat in first class before Nic ever got to! I was so nervous about the flight because of Hud's throat infection, but he was really good. I even got compliments at the end of the flight. 

After we landed, we met Stephanie for lunch. It was really nice to see her and I'm happy she got to meet Hud. 

When we got to the house, my mom and I struggled to make Hudson's pack~n~play. It was so funny! We finally got it built and then my mom leaned over to grab something and a side collapsed again. After we finally got Hud's bed set up, I got busy setting all of Hud's stuff up. Once I got Hud bathed, lotioned and in bed, I sat down and enjoyed the sunset. I put him to bed on Cali time so I had a nice, relaxing evening. It was a tiring day, but when I see that view, I feel so blessed. It honestly doesn't get much better than this!

Father's Day and Urgent Care

We started Father's Day, June 16th, with breakfast in bed for daddy. Hudson and I snuck out and got Nic McDonalds. We also gave him his card and gift. Hudson made Nic a very special present. After breakfast in bed, I actually ended up making pancakes too.

Unfortunately, Hud still had his fever and still wasn't feeling well. Since we were supposed to be leaving for Hawaii the next morning, we decided we should take him to Urgent Care. It wasn't exactly how we imagined Nic's 1st Father's Day going, but it just proves what an amazing dad he is!! He didn't complain at all. Luckily we took Hud in because he had herpangina (isn't that the grossest sounding name?). Basically it is similar to hand, foot, mouth disease and is sores in his mouth. Poor little guy! 

That afternoon, I had the delicious chocolate, salted caramel cupcakes that Nic got me for Mother's Day delivered. My dad also called and invited Nic to go for a helicopter ride. Nic took my dad his Father's Day gift and the two of them along with Justin enjoyed a fun afternoon flying. They even flew over the house!!

Fever

On June 15th, Hudson and Nic wore the matching shirts Tyler bought for them. How cute are they together?

Hudson ended up with a really bad fever later that day. He spent a good portion of the afternoon curled up on my chest, which is so unlike him. If I hadn't been so worried about him, I would have loved all the cuddles with my sweet baby boy. 

Dr. Ines Lunch and Gymboree

On June 12th, we continued our tradition and my mom and I made a day out of our dentist appointments. We went down together then had a delicious lunch at Crustacean after with Dr. Ines. It was delicious!

That evening, Hud and I went to Gymboree. It was such a fun day!

Forty Two Weeks

On June 12th, Hudson turned 42 weeks old. He now weighs 18 pounds 9 ounces. This week I spent my first night away from Hud. He did really well and so did I. :) Hudson had a lot of new foods this week including cut up steamed carrots and sweet potato with chicken. I had some baked goods, cheese and eggs and his rash flared up a bit as result. :( Hudson loves music. I play Disney station on Pandora quite a bit. At the moment his favorite songs are I Wanna Be Like You from the Jungle Book, The Dwarf's Washing Song and the Silly Song both from Snow White (basically anything with silly sounds in it or that cause me to dance around like a crazy person). 

Pool Party and Family BBQ

On Sunday, June 9th, we went to a pool party at our friend's Jessica and Jordan's house. They have the most amazing backyard and pool for parties. We felt like we were at a hotel! We had fun in the pool with Hudson and got to see some of our friends from our pregnancy classes, which was a lot of fun. 

That afternoon, my family came over for a BBQ. It is always nice to spend time with my family.

Mom's 50th Birthday Party

On June 8th, we celebrated my mom's 50th birthday. She had a Hawaii 5-0 party that was tons of fun! She had a food truck, photo booth, and an amazing candy/dessert bar! We had a great time!! I made her a guestbook/album for everyone to sign that I think turned out so cute!! I hope she had a great birthday!
