Construction Part 3-Maybe we are Crazy!

After the Kings game, Nic and I came home to check out the construction. It was dark out, but we both immediately noticed the desk looked really low. Honestly, I think only a kid could fit at it. Nic e-mailed our contractor and they fixed it the next day. It was only 26 inches high, which is lower than standard desk height! We are so tall we don't even fit at standard height desks! Could you imagine if we hadn't noticed?! On June 7th, we went out to check out the updated desk and it suddenly hit me that the pantry space that was really the whole bonus of expanding the kitchen (the desk was just supposed to be a small kitchen desk bonus) was pretty much non-existent and the desk looked huge. I guess we were so distracted the night before with how low it was, we didn't notice all the other issues. We also had never really been sold on the window idea and it was huge and in the wrong place! I was suddenly starting to feel very overwhelmed. Maybe doing all this right before having our fist baby was a really bad idea! Constantly having to inspect and analyze every step of the project ourselves and attempt to catch mistakes was exhausting. Plus making all these tough decisions that involve a lot of money in a rush because of our quickly approaching deadline (my due date) was super stressful! I know we will love it and be so happy when it is all said and done, but at the moment, I can't help but think that we are crazy for doing this!
