I'm embarrassed to admit that Hudson's first sponge bath at home wasn't until September 8th. The first week was so chaotic that we didn't find the time to squeeze a bath in, but the pediatrician said it wasn't necessary when they are this young. Since we had waited so long already, we figured we would just wait until his umbilical cord came off and we could give him a real bath, but the pediatrician told us to wait a bit longer when she examined his belly button at the 2 week appointment because it was still healing a bit. One day after he peed all over himself I finally decided that enough was enough and we had to give this little boy a bath.
We did the whole body washing portion in his changing table. The last step was to clean his private area, which led to him peeing everywhere, so he got a second sponge bath. ;) Then I wrapped him in his towel and we washed his head over the sink. He seemed to like the whole sponge bath part, and was even okay with the water being poured over his head (although he looked a bit scared at that point). He got really upset at the end (perhaps he was cold~or perhaps he enjoyed the bath so much he didn't want it to end), but I must admit, I couldn't help but smile. He looked so cute in his towel and he has the cutest little cry I've ever heard. I just love him to bits!
Oh my goodness! He's do cute!! I can't get over it!!
