On Thursday October 25th, Hudson had his two month doctor appointment (as if the poor kid hadn't already had a tough enough week). My mom came with us, which was nice since Nic had to work. We started off the appointment with the nurse weighing and measuring Hudson. He weighed 12 pounds 12 ounces, was 23 3/4 inches with a head circumference of 16 inches. He was in the 90% for height, 60% for weight and 95% for head circumference.
He was really hungry, but they didn't want me to feed him until after his immunizations so he was a bit fussy during the appointment. We went over a bunch of questions with Dr. Sethi including his reflux and allergy issues. She changed his reflux medicine and said she disagreed with the suggestion to switch to formula. She believed that breast milk was better than formula and wanted me to continue if that is what I wanted to do. The allergy test results came in so we went over those and shockingly all results were negative. She did say that the test is not 100% accurate and because of the blood in his stool he for sure had an allergy to something, but she said the results implied that he at least wasn't highly allergic to any of the major allergens. She also said that my well being was important and suggested that I not follow my diet while on vacation and just enjoy myself (especially because of the test results). She said I could just give bottles for the next two feedings after a meal where I didn't follow my diet if I was nervous about it. We told her we were going to an Ear, Nose, Throat Specialist the next day, which she was pleased with. She said if the new medicine and ENT specialist didn't help then we would need to see a gastrointestinal specialist.
After Dr. Sethi answered all of our questions and evaluated Hudson, the nurse came in to give him his shots. I must say that after the blood draw, the shots were a breeze. Hudson still screamed when the needles went in, which is heartbreaking, but at least it was over quickly and I was able to pick him up, comfort him, and then feed him. By the time we left, he was completely over it. He is such a tough little guy!!
