On Friday, March 9th, we left for Arizona. It was about a 6 hour drive, but wasn't too bad. Hudson was really good for most of the drive and we only stopped once for gas and a feeding.
We got to Sabrina's place around 9pm. Sabrina picked dinner up for us from Roys. We ate dinner, Sabrina and Alana played with Hud for a bit, then we got situated and went to bed. We did the old pack~n~play in the bathroom trick and it worked well. I only had to get up once for a feeding.
On March 10th, Nic, Sabrina, Hudson and I went to the mall. Sabrina only stayed for a bit then she had to pick my parents up from the airport. We did some shopping and grabbed some lunch before heading back to Sabrina's house. We hung out for a little bit at the house before heading into the city for the Suns vs. Rockets game. We had a suite, which was perfect because we were able to bring the stroller. There was tons of delicious food (most of it we couldn't eat, but what we could eat was really good).
Sabrina came and got Nic and I for a tour. We got to see the practice gym and the motivational tunnel the players walk through before games. It was interesting for us because it was so different to Staples Center. They had a restaurant area in the tunnel. It seemed much more accesible than the underground area at Staples Center. While we were on the tour we kept seeing people with basketball maracas. Apparently they briefly gave them out at the entrance, but quickly ran out. We must have arrived too early and missed them. It looked like a rattle and I knew Hudson would love it so I went on a mission to find one for Hud. It cost us $5 to buy one off an employee, but it was worth it. Hudson loved it!!! The suite came with two lower lever seats as well, so Nic and Alana sat down there for a bunch of the game. The Suns won and we all had a great time hanging out with friends and watching the game!!
After the game we got to see Sabrina's office, which is also in the building. It was fun to see where she works.
On March 11th,Nonna and Opa spent the morning playing with Hudson. It was nice that they got to spend time with him. :)
That morning we all went to breakfast. It has been so fun spending the weekend with Sabrina, my parents, Tomi and Alana.
After breakfast we began the long drive home. The first two hours of the drive were torture! Hudson cried almost the entire time. We thought he might be tired so I tried to get him to go to sleep, but I had no luck. We thought he was hungry so we gave him a bottle, but he just kept crying. Finally, we realized he probably needed his diaper changed (he only seems to cry like that when he has a poopy diaper). We pulled off the freeway at the next possible off ramp and quickly realized that Hudson did in fact have a dirty, leaky diaper. Poor little guy, we felt awful that we hadn't realized sooner. His diaper had leaked all over his car seat so we had quite the mess to clean up! Then while I was changing his diaper he peed all over Nic's back seat! Once I got him all cleaned up and in a new outfit, just for good measure, he spat up all over me and the seat too! So I had to change him again! It was one of those moments were you just have to laugh. The worst part was that we still had 4 hours left of our drive!!
Luckily, Hudson slept for a good chunk of the remainder of the drive!! Even when he wasn't sleeping he was in a relatively good mood. He even laughed hysterically a few times at his new toy Spud! (I was making spud do karate tricks). We had such a fantastic trip! It was great to see Sabrina, her house and where she works. It was great to see my parents and Hudson was really good!!
