On Feb. 28th, I went back on the diet. I decided to go completely allergy free. Nic decided to do it with me. He said he was doing it for moral support (which I really appreciate), but I think his main motivation is so that I can't complain every time he eats delicious food in front of me. Since we were both doing the diet I was able to clean out the pantry and fridge so I didn't have to be tortured every time I looked for something to eat. As you can see, I had to throw out or box up a lot of food and our pantry and fridge were both pretty empty when I was finished.
That same day, Tyler was racing in the US Grand Prix in Utah. I was able to watch it live on my laptop and it was super exciting! They kept talking about Tyler's record breaking scooter riding you tube video, which was pretty funny. If you aren't familiar with skier cross, this is how it works: 4 people race in each heat with the first 2 moving on. Eight skiers race in 2 semi-finals, then 4 in the finals. I was so nervous watching Ty's races. He had some really exciting races especially when he moved into second place just before the finish line to advance into the finals!! He ended up finishing second overall after his mentor John Teller (X-games gold medalist in skier cross). Another friend of the family, Madeline Riffel finished 2nd for women, but because the 1st place winner wasn't from the US she was named the Grand Prix Champ for women so it was a big day for Mammoth!! I may be biased, but Tyler was by far the most exciting racer of the day and the biggest story of the day as well. My whole family was ecstatic for him and so proud!!! Way to go Tyler!!
