On March 21st, after his bath, Hudson sat up on his own from a crawl position. He was very proud of himself and we were proud too. Once we put him down for bed, he immediately sat up in his crib. We were proud of him and I snapped a few photos of him on the monitor. Then out of nowhere, he reached out, grabbed his crib bars and stood up! We were shocked! We thought it would be at least a week before that happened. We weren't sure what to do. We both started running up worried about the crib height and Hudson's safety, then I had second thoughts about going in, then I realized I should take a picture and ran back towards the monitor. Some friends told us that when their baby learned to stand they would stand there crying until helped back down (many said this went on for weeks disrupting sleep). Not Hudson. A few seconds after he stood up, he let go with both hands, very confident that he was going to be able to stand all on his own. To his surprise, he fell over, bounced and rolled on the mattress. He cried for a bit, then went to sleep. Nic and I couldn't believe it! We made it back to the monitor in time to witness his dramatic fall, but I didn't get a photo. It all happened so fast!
