17 Months
On January 22nd, Hudson turned 17 months old. Hudson weighs 22 pounds 4 ounces and is 31 3/4 inches tall. Hudson walks backwards now. Whenever he sees cars he says vroom vroom. He also says dog, Bon Bon (for Bonnie), Anna, Stu, Oliver, wombat, devil, grandma, grandpa and nan. Hudson has been struggling to fall asleep and stay asleep since we got back from Australia. He has been crying as soon as I start singing him because he knows it is almost time to be placed in his crib. One night he wanted to play in the middle of the night and refused to sleep. Nic ended up taking Hud into his jail, Nic went to sleep while Hud went crazy playing with all his toys. A while later Nic woke up and found Hud asleep in the middle of a pile of toys. At first we thought it was the time change (it probably was the first few nights we got back), but it turns out he has fluid on his left ear so that could explain all the trouble sleeping. One night, we went for a moonlit walk as a family. Hud ran up and down the grass hill near our house. He found a pine cone and a rock, which he was really excited about. When we got home, we had a dance party in our kitchen. Those are the little moments that don't always get captured with a camera or make it into their own post, but they are my favorite times of memories. I thought might explode from joy that night! Hudson's bottom left tooth broke through. We have started being able to bribe Hud. We will say if you want crunchies you have to eat more of your dinner and he will do it to get what he wants. Hudson figured out how to wall walk on his own in swim this month. He has started running on the blue mat before jumping in. We were pleasantly surprised, especially because he had such a long break from classes. Hudson also walked down a few stairs by himself. He seems to be growing up so fast!
