Mother's Day

After my doctor appointment on May 7th, Hudson and I grabbed Subway sandwiches and met my mom, dad and sister at Oma and Opa's house for lunch to celebrate Mother's Day. We had a nice lunch and spent some time with Oma and Opa. Oma seemed really well today (memory/confusion wise). She was really enjoying spending time with Hudson and even sang Shall We Go For a Walk Today to him (that is a song she used to always sing to us: Shall we go for a walk today? A walk today? A walk today? Shall we go for a walk today? To see what God has given.) It was so nice to see Oma light up with Hud. It is wonderful how much joy children bring.

On May 11th, Hudson and Nic got me some balloons and brought me McDonalds breakfast in bed. Hudson was very excited about the balloon and even said, "Happy Mama's Day" to me! After breakfast, we went to the park. Hudson had a blast. We went on the slide, the swings (he even pushed Nic on the swing) and we all ran around after a soccer ball.

The most exciting gift though, was Ruby's arrival. She was born at 4am weighing only 6 pounds and 9 ounces. We went down in the afternoon to meet her. Hudson couldn't go in so Nic watched him in the waiting room. Ryan and Alli came at the same time and Judy was watching Dallas, so everyone ended up having a party in the waiting area. Little Ruby was so perfect! I fell in love instantly, just like I knew I would! I can't wait to watch her grow and watch Rachelle in her new role as a mom. I know she is going to be a fabulous one!!
