Crocodiles

On Friday, August 5th, we went to Hartley's Crocodile Adventure Park. We saw tons of freshies and salties, watched a feeding, and saw tons of other Australian animals like koalas and a cassowary. The highlight, besides finally getting to spend the day with Ollie, was the river cruise. The boat driver dangled food out and we got to watch crocs shoot out of the water and snap their mouth shut around it right next to the boat! The sound the jaw makes when it snaps shut is remarkable and I could have watched the crocs all day. They are truly remarkable animals.
That night we all went out together for dinner. Since Susan, Rob and I had already gone to our first pick restaurant Salsa for dinner that week, I suggested the place listed as the #1 restaurant on Trip Advisor. Well, it turned out to be a bit fancy, which isn't ideal with a one year old, and really over-priced. It was so stressful because I felt responsible for picking a bad place. I was so nervous about everyone not liking the food too on top of everything else. Nic was really disappointed with his steak, but other than that everyone seemed pretty pleased with their food, thankfully. I really wanted the night to be special and was a bit dissapointed that the restaurant was a let down for everyone, but the most important thing was that we got to spend the night all together.
