I’M PREGNANT!!!!!!! I still can’t believe it!! I couldn’t sleep Saturday morning (12/17), so I got up nice and early and took a pregnancy test. I had already spent on hour in bed telling myself that I was having cramps and my period was coming, so don’t get my hopes up. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw a faint line. Usually, nothing was there, but it wasn’t a clear positive so I yelled for Nic to come look. He said I sounded confused and concerned. I told him that everything I read said even the faintest positive is still a positive, but he still wasn’t buying it. I spent the whole day getting all excited and he spent the whole day trying to keep me grounded. I looked up pictures of other people’s “faint positives” and mine was much more positive than most of the pictures so I started to get even more excited. We bought a few more pregnancy tests that day including one of those digital ones that actually writes “pregnant” or “not pregnant.” We went to a party Saturday night (I didn’t drink) and we planned to repeat the test the next morning. I woke up around 4am and tried to force myself back to sleep. I slept until about 7am and then couldn’t take it any longer (so much for sleeping in all weekend). I told Nic I was going to take the tests. This time I peed in a cup so I could take two tests. As the first test results were starting to appear, Nic came in. I pointed the plus out to him and said that means positive, see, I told you. He still wasn’t convinced. Then we stood hovered over the blinking hour glass on the digital test waiting for the final confirmation. Then, right before our eyes was the word pregnant! I kind of started crying, grinning from ear to ear, jumping up and down and hugging Nic. He looked pretty shocked so I grabbed the camera and took a picture of him. Then we did a little photo shoot, then hugged again, then I cried some more. Then Nic went back to sleep and I sat in bed wide awake thanking God for such an amazing gift and praying that the baby is healthy and that everything goes smoothly. I couldn’t fall back asleep, so I went downstairs to have breakfast and work on some Christmas present stuff (and read millions of I’m pregnant websites and weekly baby progress articles). This is going to be the best Christmas ever!!
