Construction Part 1

Maybe we are crazy, but we have decided to remodel our kitchen before Baby Campbell arrives. We knew we had to at least replace the island and fix our lower cabinetry because of the flood damage and we've always talked about updating our kitchen so when our house flooded we figured this would be a good time to remodel. Our original plan was just to change the island, update the cabinets and possibly move the microwave. It was actually pretty pricey for what we felt we were getting and the more we talked about it the more we realized we would outgrow our kitchen once we have a few kids running around. The last thing we wanted to do was spending a bunch of time and money doing construction only to decide a few years later that we still weren't completely happy with our kitchen. We asked our contractor to price out a few other options including our dream design (for the space we have). It was obviously more, but for the amount we would be spending we were getting way more. So we decided to go for it! We changed our game plan really late, then had to get our permits, HOA approval, etc. so we are really cutting it close with the baby's due date! We are just praying and crossing our fingers that we haven't gotten ourselves in over our head and that the construction is finished before the baby arrives.

Here are some before photos of outside:

Here are the first construction photos: Our termite tree has been removed. Our bushes that covered the air conditioners have been removed, and our BBQ is in the process of being removed.
