On May 22, Nic and I went to Vincenzo's for an end of season basketball party for the Legion team he coached. We enjoyed pizza, I met all the kids and parents, and we all had a lot of fun. Nic gave a speech and the parent's thanked Nic for all his hard work and gave him a thank-you gift. I had so many parents come up to me and tell me what an amazing coach Nic is. They all said how great he is with the kids, how much the kids learned basketball-wise, but most importantly he treated the kids with respect and taught them to be better individuals. I already know all this about Nic and see how amazing he is with kids, especially in his role as their coach, but it sure was nice to hear it from so many people. I felt so proud of him. I know the parents and kids are going to miss having Nic run the Legion Program and coach their kids. I also know Nic is a bit sad to be giving it up to spend more time with the baby and I and I'm glad we were able to end the experience with such a wonderful party.
