Halloween

On October 31st, I turned 29 years old. I honestly can't believe I am already 29, but I feel so incredibly blessed that it doesn't freak me out as much as I imagined it would. I had to work on my birthday, but I did get to sneak away for a lunch with my Oma, whose birthday is also Halloween.

After work, I rushed to get some cooking and baking done. Then my parents and sister came over and we took Hudson trick~or~treating. I only wanted to take him to a few of our neighbors houses for the experience before our friends came over, but I guess we went a little to early because most people weren't ready for us. The neighbors that were home were very sweet and accomodating though. Hudson loved the whole experience. He was excited to walk up to the doors and knock and he loved getting candy in his pumpkin. My heart was swelling as I watched him. It was so fun to see him experiencing and loving the holiday.

Later that night, our friends Jemma, Jack, Kaia, Shannon, Ross and Lucy came over to celebrate with us. I made chili, cornbread, mummy pigs in blankets, pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, ghost rice krispie treats, and brownie bites. Everything was vegan and most of the food (besides the cupcakes and rice krispie treats) were also gluten free. The kids had so much fun together and all the adults had a great time too. It was a really fun night and a great way to celebrate my birthday.
